Just been in my local Yeomans and they had a poster up about the tent show thats just started in Baslow, Derbyshire. Has anyone been to it yet and if so is it any good. I was thinking of having a trip out this weekend - it's not too far from us, but there is nothing worse than getting all excited thinking there is going to be alot of tents there and when you get there and there's not!
WHere are you in Derbyshire olivia? IThe show is at Calver Crossroads, a couple of miles away from Baslow, and it is WELL worth a visit - I would guess that there are approx30 tents or more on display- from ickle one berths to 8 berth frame tents.
They also have a marquee on site with lots of camping kit to browse. They always have some of the display models for sale at bargain prices (due to them being usually a bit muddy!) You can reserve them and then pick up when the show ends and they are taking the tents down.
We might pop up to calver. Although I have just managed to get a side canopy from Yeomans for our Baby Monty, but unfortunately I am having withdrawal symptoms and need to check out even more tents, you know whats new? Im sure you ve already been. Perhaps we could catch up sometime. You could even give me a rundown.
We live in Glossop so I think it's only about 35 mins away. I am hoping the new Montana 6 is up. We have last years version, and although there absolutely nothing wrong with it, I WANT THE NEW ONE! but I guess that's women for you.
Hey up Von + Jon - not been to Yeomans at Calver yet but i DID see them at Nottingham a few weeks ago (I just happened to be passing..............)
We hope to be at Eden tree caravan park in Bradwell (in Hope Valley near Castleton) for Easter, with both my sisters, and bro-in law, nephew and niece .What about you guys?
I asked the Webmaster on here to send you my email addy some weeks ago to your email address, did you get it? Would be great to catch up and have a good ole chinwag again (and perhaps the odd glass??!)
And Olivia- it is IMPOSSIBLE to have too many tents (we have 5 and there is just 2 of us!) so go along and have a browse!
We have been this afternoon. Well worth a visit but take your gumboots (wellies) as it is v.v.muddy (you have to feel sorry for the guys from Yeomans)..
We (there's 5 of us) are planning a trip to Europe later in the year and need to get kitted up. We were looking at Outwell Sun Valley 6 or the Peakland Ashover...anyone have any thoughts or advice?
OH you have just brought back some wonderful memories of when we use to live just up the road from Carver in Hassop at The Eyre Arms we use to walk down to Calver and we remember looking at the tent display then (19 years ago) which considering we had not even thought about camping at that stage was quite strange. it must be fate. Poor hubby I have just been sat here saying how much I wish we where still there. I think we will be going over that way this summer some how. Its such a beutiful place.

Judging by the Nottingham show, there should be at least 60 tents on display from Outwell, Coleman, Peakland, Vango & Khyan so certainly worth a visit.
