 I am considering buying a Diablo 600.

I go camping alone with kids (aged 8 & 9).  How easy is the tent to put up - I have read the instructions on web-site and it looks quite complicated (but they usually do!)

I can put up a Aztec Sala which is a four pole tunnel tent so the Diablo looks quite daunting compared to this.

Your opinions appreciated.

You are gonna put this "daddy-of-a-tent" up by yourself???

Think you are gonna need some help... maybe someone will volunteer... I would ask if they dont!

We are really happy with our Diablo and think it is a great tent and happy to recommend it.

BUT :-

1, There's 2 of us to pitch it which is really useful with the long poles, depends how helpful/tall your children are, or if there's somebody around to help.

2, Do you really need a tent this size.

Have a look round and see what else may be more suitable before deciding.

Hi,

My friend just bought a Diablo 600, she says it is fairly easy to put up between 2 of you, extremely hard alone.  Apparently the inner tent goes up first and then you have to pull a outer layer over the top.

As for issues with the size I think it is the Diablo 900 which some sites are reluctant to take due to the amount of ground they cover.

I decided to go for a Montana 6 due to the advice given on this site.

Hope this helps.

Mandy.

We have the 600 and I would say you need 2 adults to put it up.

We have this tent and would definately say it takes two to put up. My sister has another vango (a tunnel one) and says she could do this alone so maybe that is worth considering.

I have had problems this easter for the first time in getting pitches for my diablo 600. two bookings were rejected and one site wanted double price! I was told that campsites are getting more wary and noticed a sliding scale on many sites depending on the size of tent which i have not seen before.

The diablo suits our needs well but if my kids were older, think I would consider a tent that takes up less room and requires a smalled pitch.
