I just wondered whether we were the only family that kept a 'camp diary'? Every time we go we take a little book which we add our lttile tales and comments of our trip. It might seem a bit formal but it's far from that! Kids, adults, family friends we all add our little bit. It's really good to pick it up when at home in the winter and remember our adventures! Our closest camping budddies moved to Australia last year but we still have their tales & comments in our little book. When we take 'virgin' campers away it's always a laugh after a couple of beers to read through. As the kids get older they laugh too at their comments of yesteryear. Just thought I'd pass on our little tip.
i always buy foto albums with space to write notes at the side and keep a picture diary... its sooo funny, sometimes the comments are just funny quips or others are in diary format, i always start a new album with a little note to us and finish it with comments on what we have been up to
I have kept a log for many years. Something along the lines of
Where we went.
The journey and how long it took.
Good and bad things about the site.
Things to do in the area.
Any unusual happenings.
When we changed the gas bottle.
Places to eat and shop.
Its nice to be able to look things up when OH says "What was the name of that lovely site we went to in Robin Hoods Bay, the one where you walked into the shower room door and broke your nose"
Hi we keep a diary as well. Sometimes when we get it out we reminisce about the good times and the bad. In it we add picturess postcards and photos. And then we add the date, the weather, the towns and villages we visit and anything that stands out as being rely memrable and we also give the camp site a marking out of ten. Ten being the best.
We keep our "Camp Log Book". Digital photos drawings tickets stories recipes any thing we like. Just got it out to write in about our first trip this year and had a good ole laugh about last years adventures! FAB esp for 6 year old daughter to help her remember the good times!
We did the same as kids when we caravanned in France each year!

What a fantastic idea! I've never thought about this before but with our first trip for this year this weekend i think i may just have to start. If only to record the amusing antics of my 3 year old!
that is a fandabeedozee idea, i cant wait til our first camping weekend of the year, yeahhhhhhhhhh i'm even more excited now coz when i think back to our previous trips weve had with friends and forgotten to take photos (yes we brought camera and didnt use it), and the laughs we all shared at least now it will be in writing to look back on................So I think a round of applause for AndyP3103.
I start these things, like the children's photoalbums, which so far only contain pics of them as babies! When we had 'Trevor the Trailer tent' we added a brief line about where we took him, but we didn't like him much and reverted to camping, so maybe I should start again. Now the eldest has started school, we could involve them by asking that they draw pictures of the site and add that in. Great idea, thanks for reminding me!
