Hi mark

I was just wondering if the screw in stake is strong enough for your two rotties

We have a shar-pei and he is coming with us on our first ever camping trip next week.We are a little worried if he will be ok on the stake and in the tent.

have you ever had problems with other owners and their dogs because of the breed

your advice is appreciated

thanks

there is also a lady on here called Jackie that has a Rottie.  I wonder if she is around??

My uncle had 2 shar pei once, one was very friendly the other wasnt.  i think they are gorgoeus!

It wouldnt bother me what type of dog i was camped next to provided it was under control.  we camped near to someone who had a jack russel once, normal rules didnt seem to apply to this dog as it was alowed to wander around at leisure and cr*p where it liked, which seemed to be in front of our tent mostly. Grr.

perhaps you could put 2 stakes in the ground for 1 lead if you are worried?

thanks for quick reply ..feel better already .He is a good dog at home but you never know and I would just hate it if he were naughty and made people complain. He isn't a barker only at strange barks so we will have to be prepared for that.He is never let of lead as he is so shy he panics when he sees other dogs just wants to sniff and drool a lot!.but people do  see him and walk away in the opposit direction ...LOL

two stakes sounds good next problem is he will not sit down outside so will have to buy him a rug!!

hugs

I have a 10st+ male Bullmastiff who I take camping. I have found that one screw-in stake works fine for him. In the tent I use one of the fold-up soffcrates so that he doesn't wander all over getting into michief lol.

I was like you all concerned about whether the little swtake in the ground would be strong enough to hold my dog as he is very strong and to my surprise it was! Make sure that you turn it right the way down into the ground and that some of the straight bit is in there to but it is extremely strong!!!  As I said it surprised me how strong it was!!!!!!

just wanted to let you all know we went camping this weeked in Buxton and Jake (the shar pei) was fantastic never barked once .He enjoyed being on his stake (which one was strong enough) sat all day outside on his rug watching the sheep and the horses .looking forward to our next trip now!!!!just doing it when it is warmer poor Jake shivered most of friday night so bought him a thicker pillow and all was fine again.
