Hi All,

I'm new here so, firstly, hello!

Does anyone have any experience with the above tent?  I'm planning a few overnight trips and will probably be alone (unless I can convince Wife & 5yr old daughter that they would enjoy it too), I want a tent that is big enough for us all to use (fingers crossed) but manageble for single handed erection (ahem,,).

I've seen these for sale here for £42 which seems like a good deal.

With a couple of practice runs in the garden do you think I'd be able to put it up by myself and is it any good?

Thanks

Steve

Hello Steve

As a wife and having two daughters myself, I would go for comfort every time - of course it's down to personal choice, but if your trying to convince them to go you may need a bigger tent.

It's best to find a good camping shop with tents up on display before buying one.  You will be supprised how many there is around and I bet your daughter will love running in and out of them all - one down, only the wife to go!

I myself didn't want to start all this camping buisness - thought it would be cold and miserable and so my OH borrowed his brothers tent to try out - I have never looked back.  I really loved it even though on my first trip I was only 6 weeks pregnent and had bad moring sickness, and now I'm hooked and driving hubby mad!

Good luck.

Oh, good idea!  If I do convince them to try it out then I'll only have one shot at it!

My sister has one of those large tunnel tents so I think I'll see if I can borrow that if the time comes...

I'll still need a tent to use when I'm on my own, I plan to camp the odd evening while I'm working away from home as I'm quickly tiring of Travelodges.  If all goes to plan then I would imagine two tents would be a good idea, one for me on my own and then a larger model for when the family are in attendance.

Hiya

We have Gelert Tornado 5 for family of 3, was plenty big enough for weekenders in fine/ damp weather, but didn't hold out very well against more windy/torrential rain of cumbria last August!!

We are now looking for a more sturdy tent for longer camping hols!

Sue
