i went to pj camping to to have a look at the new kyhams and come home with a new outwell norfolk lake...oh dear have i made a mastake it comes in two very big and very heavy bags one for the poles and one for the canvas.i think it will fill up my trailer.but on the poss side its is a very nice well made tent much more space then my poor old hartford xl and its made of polycotton.now i cant wait to set it up in the garden...yippee sumer is here

saw them at PJ a few weeks ago they where erecting them inside (little odd). Anyway, it looked like a lovely tent and you can see why they are more expensive.

thats what worried me.. no one seems to mention the lake range so iam all alone on this one.. but when i got my hartford xl in 2003 that was the same now i see them evrywhere and they are great tents...but i will be setting up my new tent this weekend and i might leave it up over easter just to road test it and i'll let you know how i get on..

The "Lakes" are a new range this year so you won't hear much about them yet........think of yourself as a pioneer!

Have seen the Bear Lake and the range looks absolutely fab- the combination of poly cotton ( waterproof, breathable AND UV resistant) the alloy poles (best possible strength to weight ratio) the up-in-one construction with the zip out GS. it's an excellent package, and I shall look forward to you reporting back!

I've only 'seen' the  Outwell Lake tents on the internet and its hard to tell what the difference is!

It sounds like they are made of a canvas-type fabric: is that right? So would there be the same weathering-in and drying-off issues as a traditional canvas tent or not?

In what other ways are they different from the Montanas and Indianas? MT

i pitched my tent this weekend..it went up like a dream much more easy then my hartford the only downside is the size of the two bags it come in..but on the poss side its a very well made tent the ground sheet is made of a sort of pvc rubber and it zipped in place very easy. the tent has lots of windows with nice cotton curtains..evan my wife and kids like it thats a first..the front porch is roomy with a removable bathtub groundsheet so no more rain getting in..and yes what a nice cotton tent smell..packing it away was very easy and the bags are over sized so it all went in with no problems now i need to go camping...  

Looks really nice.  We have  a Montana 6 and have been really impressed by the Outwell quality etc so I am sure you will enjoy.
