If you go to the BBC News website and click on the watch BBC News in Video banner at the top you can watch what I think might have been the report

I saw the last couple of minutes of it. Did you see that 'unit' I think thats what they called it! Cant see the point if your're taking all that get up it was like a living room all furry throws, carpets and cushions!

Even I'm not that bad

and it was huge like a big dome/marquee

I think they called it a mongolian yurt!  The stove in the centre with a 10ft chimney certainly provided an alternative to bbqs in the rain!

Any aspirational yurters - check out this link:

I can't see that it was in any way related to camping! It was obv a slow news day and given the bank holiday they pulled it out to pad out the hour!!

Quote from BBC

' The designers have made it cool but the popularity is because more and more people are living in towns and cities, many without a garden or outdoor space, and camping offers them an antidote to urban life.'

It's a nice thought but I think the answer is simpler than that, tents are cheap and going abroad is long winded and expensive. Discuss

We were actually staying at Blackberry Wood when they were filming! They had got the local boy scouts in to show how camping was done ... unfortunately it was very difficult for them to get any clips of filming done without my son and his mates running through the woods shouting " death to boy scout and gnomes!".

Had a superb time at Blackberry Wood though! All campsites should be like that one! Just a shame that an already popular site will now be almost impossible to stay at with all the extra publicity - they reckon by the end of the month they will have every weekend fully booked till the middle of September!
