You could try the C&CC - they may do it as part of a policy to cover your overall camping gear.
Other than that you may find you can't get it insured for theft whilst left uncoupled and unattended on site. The problem is security - as small trailers are light and easy to move it's difficult to secure one adequately. Trailers are pretty useful, easy to sell and are not identifyable so are thief attractive & it's pretty easy for someone to just stroll up whilst you are out or at night and just drag it off unchallenged (remember thieves walk boldly into offices & conference rooms in broad daylight & pick up lap-top computers and walk out with them unchallenged!)
Your problem just covering the trailer itself is one of minimum premiums - the value of the trailer is not high enough to generate sufficient premium to make it worthwhile anyone insuring just the trailer on its own. Indeed it may not be worth your while insuring it, by the time you take into account premium and excess. No point in a "pound note swapping" excercise - ie premium plus excess nearly as much as the trailer is worth! You'd be better off just taking the risk yourself & hanging onto your money. After several years, if you don't lose the trailer, what you'd have saved in premium would pay for a total loss.
Try your household contents insurers - it may be possible to have it covered as a specified item on that, and they may not charge if added mid-term (some don't charge for small additions mid-term as not worth putting entry through!). But if they agree to add it, do check exactly what cover they'll give, where they are prepared to cover it, what excess if any, and what exclusions. For eg no point them doing it if they put a £100 excess on it!
