hi newbie here

we are going camping can,t wait any longer wife and kids are bored.

i have been looking at these elec hobs are they any good or is it better to go with gas.

just that the kids hate  having hot beans cold spuds and warm bacon from a single gas stove.

and is 400g.s.m sleeping bag any good for night time what with the english weather thanks from paul and les.

ime a great fan of electric we take electric oven, george forman, and low watt kettle (not to use all at the same time) but i use gas for the cooker as this allows me to use it at the same time as one of the electric items.

ive got two of the single burner stoves, but this year ime going to dig out my two burner, the cannisters allways run out at the wrong time for me.

Hi we have a double electric ring for our main summer hols when we always go on hook up, but we always take some form of gas cooker or cobb for backup, also short breaks we dont always have hook up. but the elec rings are great and cheap too so if you already have hook up cable then probably worth spending £10 on one.

Hi Raggyoo and welcome to the site. We use a Dual Fuel stove which is petrol and cuts down on having to carry a bulky gas bottle in the car. Also means you shouldn't run out at a critical moment (ie bacon but no eggs!!). It has two burners so you can cook more than one thing at once and if you take your single burner as well you should be more than happy.

Not sure about the sleeping bags sorry. We just fill up whatever space we have left with extra blankets and pillows. Also, have a temperature controlled fan heater running throughout the night so it never drops below a certain temperature for us.

HI and welcome. Can't advise on the elec, but a sleeping bag of 400 gsm (= grams per square metre) is a good warm one for all year camping, so it would be fine.
