Hmm I saw both the Monty 4 and the Indiana at the weekend and liked those. The Monty has full SIG but the Indi has SIGS in the bedrooms but is non SIG in the rest of the tent. They have the bedrooms next to each other though, good head height though.
The Vango Vista's looked nice and they have vis a vis bedrooms - the head height was good as well - non SIG I think.
Ideally you need to get out to a display and have a walk round. If Hubby is tall make sure he can layout in the sleeping compartments with a pillow etc. We nearly bought a tent that OH couldn't lay out in!
Hi we have the Monty 6 and just love it but have just bought an Easy Camp Ancona 400 as a weekend tent when we just want to go away for a night or two. It has two sleeping compartments and have a decent amount of living space for those wet days. It has a SIG and have a portch area with big windows. Head room should not be a problem as I'm six five and can stand up in the living area. Pack up reasonably small.
I've just noticed that you are in Essex try to go to PJ Camping they have very good display of tents errected at the shops and I think they have a store somewhere in Essex, we bought ours from their store near Hatfield. The address is on-line.
If you are going to PJ, have a look at the Easycamp Napoli 500 as well. Another good weekend tent especially for the price. 2 sleeping compartments ( and a third removable one ), also a SIG throughout. If you also buy your self a couple of canopy poles ( about £10 ), the front cover converts into a canopy as well.
WE have just bought a gelert Quebec as a weekend tent. We like the space as we use a diablo 900 for anything longer than a weekend. We looked for about 6 months and went to see a lot of tents before going for the Quebec. I have only put it up in the garden so far, but it went up really quickly and came down easily too. I even managed to pack it back into the bag without any fuss aswell. The one thing we noticed was the bedrooms are much bigger than the diablo pods, which means we will still have loads of room for our clothes and things.
Hope you find something that suits you.
Steve
------------- I'm not a complete idiot, Some parts are missing!
is it me going daft or do half of them tents not have a sig ??
If its just me and the kids or all of us for just one night we take the Vango Venture 600 DLX ,but if its for a full weekend then we take the big tent ,may aswell as it does not take much longer to erect !
A Sunncamp Evo 600 might be worth considering. Flysheet first, SIG, 1x4 and 1x2 inners, very good head height. Looks very quick to put up to me, but what do I know . MT

I'm in the same position as you & not too sure what to go for!! how much do you wish to spend? I've been looking at the allweathers web site and they have the 2005 wynnster angelsey excel 7 on for £200 which looks quite a good spec (also have the smaller 5 berth )
I've been asking on here to see if anyone recommends this model but response has been a little quiet, but it does seem about the right for my needs with SIG & two bedrooms of a decent size.Have a look and see what you think.
We were in the same position and ended up going for the Montana 4 2006. The full SIG was vital for us.
Not been away yet but it seemed easy enough to pitch when we tried it in the garden last weekend. I was getting concerned because of some of the posts recently.
I hadn't seen the sunncamp evo 600 until after we bought the montana but that looks an interesting tent. We ended up getting a decent price on the montana (£205) I think we're happy.
Not sure if this may be a bit big but how about the Coleman Columbia 10 - it's only £130 at www.e-awnings.co.uk
There's a thread on here just now about it, two or three have bought from there. In the thread Davedb's OH mentions the time they took to do the first test pitch in the back garden, I'm sure it was about 30-40 mins.

Hi, I think the reason that this tent may not have been mentioned in this thread is that its too big for a weekend tent, when people are generally looking for something lighterweight/smaller which will pop up and down pretty quickly.
The Angelesy Excel 7 looks a bit grander than that! Its not a tent I'm familiar with but have read good reports of it on here previously. MT

We have a Gelert Quebec, they are really roomy, with massive bedrooms, and love and toasty with the SIG. Even I could put it up and packed away nicely back into the bag. i think it's a bargain as well for a family tent at £185.
