We've used a Packtowel and a Lifeventure towel (needed different colours!) for years. They feel different to normal towels but do the job. They pack down to virtually nothing which is always a bonus. However the main advantage is how quick they dry. Normal towels tended to get fusty if it was a damp holiday whereas these towels are fine. We just hang them from the elastic on the bedroom compartment (as they're nice and light) and they're soon dry. They last well too, no signs of wear after years of use.

I've got a handsize one from home bargains, which I think was £1 (I got it last year).  They do dry differently to a normal towel, but I find I can dry my full body & my long hair with this towel, and it fits in my toiletry bag!  For me it's an absolute must - and it's pink!

Well I love 'em71 but hubby kept asking me why I expected him to get dry on a bit of material, (another bloke who only wants REAL towels!).48

Mind you, I put me foot down with a firm hand in the tin tent last year and made him use the Gelert large ones for the w-h-o-l-e two weeks, never letting on that I had chucked in two 'normal' ones if he protested to-o-o-o-o much, but once he thought that was all he had, he resigned himself to it, just re-inforcing his dislike of them when we got back home.54

For some reason, men just seem to be wetter than us women folk, don't have a scooby doo why, but defo wetter! It's almost as if their skin soaks up the water whereas it sort of...drips of us lot! Weird eh?

I do also use a liccle turbie towel as this does stop my long hair dripping all over me body while I'm trying to get dry. At home, for swimming, I have even managed to dry my entire body, (no mean feat let me tell ya), with one liccle bitty turbie towel, when dipstick that I am, I'd forgotten to put my large towel in me swimming bag that morning! Mind you, didn't have a hope in hell of wrapping it around me body to walk from the shower to the cubicle!

Oooooh, one more thing! About these microfibre towels! NEVER USE FABRIC SOFTENER ON THEM OR THEY LOSE THEIR ABSORBENCY! Forget who told me, but thankfully it had been before my internet order of them had arrived.

Ah, wait a mo....lightbulb moment! I KNOW where I heard that.........on here!!! Best tips in the wolrd on here

I have seen th micro towels...but have never used them...we take 'normal' towels from home and hang them over the car seats to dry after use...It's amazing how hot your car gets during the day...mmmm and nice warm towels too...!

Lidls had the microfibre towels really cheap last summer, keep an eye on their website, they only do them for a limited time, you can sign up for emails of their offers so you'll know when they'll be getting them in.

We use the Lidl's micro fibre towels, and they are great,as they dry so quickly, OH also has a turbie towel. the only down side to them is they catch on things, like rings etc.

We splashed out on the more "spensive" Lifeventure towels last year and the difference in quality was noticeable straight away - they abosrb more than other micro fibre towels I have used, dry really fast and don't get at all fusty even if conditions means they can't be properly dried. And they only take up the space of a make up bag - brilliant!

The pactowels are pretty indestructable.  I was on holiday in Costa Rica a couple of years ago and a racoon 'stole' mine out of my rucksack.  It abandonned it when it realised it wasn't very tasty and I managed to retrieve it.  It's still going strong.....apart from looking a bit chewed
