I have been looking for a second hand outwell hartford xl or xxl for about 8months now on ebay and found that very often they go for nearly as much and incredibly for even MORE than new when purchased online has anyone else noticed this phenomenon on ebay?

Quite often, yes, only was interested recently to see a Khyam Ridgipod Excelsior with one pod was offered for sale; someone emailed to ask if he would close the auction early upon immediate payment of £325 plus postage - offer refused - and the tent went for £240!

Poor bloke!

Instead of buying second hand why not look for new  2005 models at discounted prices.

When I bought my Vango Tempest I bought it at less than some of the prices( secondhand) on Ebay!.

It was a new 2005 model ( no significant difference to the 2006 model) bought at about 60% of the 2006 model price.

Personally wouldn't buy secondhand unless I knew the tent and its owner.
