Hi de hi all,

We are off for our first camping trip tomorrow with a 6 birth tent.  I've also bought a gazebo to erect beside the tent to do the cooking/sitting in.  I've bought extra tent pegs and 100 ft of guy rope to tie it down with.  Does anyone know if this will be enough?  I've just seen gazebo leg fixings for sale, that you fill with sand or water, can anyone recommend them?  I've also noted that gazebos come with a warning not to leave up overnight but I see them around on plenty of campsites.  Our gazebo is a mid range one by the way, "medium" if not quite "heavy" duty - oh and it's not forecast to be too windy where we're staying!

Any last minute advise would be appreciated.

We took a gazebo away when we first started camping.  Weather was beautiful all day but turned very nasty at night - needless to say the gazebo is no longer with us

All I would say, is listen to the weather forcast and if it does start to turn windy take it down.  Luckily our gazebo didn't do any damage to anyones tent or car, but if we hadn't have got up in the middle of the night and got it down fast, I dread to think what would have happened.

That's just what I needed to hear!  I would have quite happily gone sailing off tomorrow without a care (and so would the gazebo no doubt).  NOW I know why they give that warning on the side of the package!
