Well we have just returned from our maiden camping trip to Ayr...arrived to find very wet sloping ground and damp grey day...also seemed to try to pitch tent in the only windy time of the day...
But OH and I managed to put tent up in just under an hour...including guying and pegging out...only had a small audience who watched from the comfort of their static caravan but I think we impressed them as they came over to admire tent today...
So the moral of the story is?...remember Robert the Bruce (Scottish Legend) who was hiding in a cave during a battle he was losing...whilst feeling dejected he spotted a spider trying to spin a web without much success...it kept falling down but getting back up again to try all over again...Robert took heart from this example of perseverance and coined the phrase...'if at first you don't succeed-try, try and try again'!!!...he went on to win the battle...as we finally did with our now very well loved and christened tent!
Thanks again to everyone for all your advice...
