Mine are a similar vage- 6,5 and 2.5.  The six year old doesn't use any more facillities as he has Aspergers Syndrome and won't use playa reas anyway, so whilst I don't mind so much paying for the fice year old, the six year olds costs bug me.  But because he doesn't have a disability registration (takes several years where we live to get that far into the system), we still pay equal.

Last yar when we had a smaller tent than many couples, it also bugged me we paid more but in the end it was still cheap- our most expensive break this year costs under £150 excluding ferries, and that's not bad is it?

I wouldn't mind paying extra for kids if it was free shower ect but this site you had to pay for shower. i put all three in one to keep cost down. i often wash up at my tent so don't ask for hot water for that. i just want a bit of grass and a loo.

I have six kids and we are branching out into camping for the first time this year.  I don't mind paying for the older four (they are 11, 7, 6, 5) years and I am pleased to see that most sites don't charge for my younger two (they are 3 years and 17 months).  For me, camping - even i f I do have to pay per person - is still a fairly cheap holiday and still gives the kids a chance to explore new places, etc.  I agree that its a shame that you can't pay per pitch rather than per person, but as was mentioned earlier, provisions at sites are getting better all the time (so I gather anyway).

Basically, I could take my whole family camping for a week for less than it would cost me to take then to Alton Towers for a day - to me, thats a bargain!

I don't mind paying for everyone but, as Sammi-Jay will find out if deciding to let the older kids have a pup tent, he will end up paying twice (once for the kids, then again for the additional tent). This CAN'T be right, can it? (have had a rant about this in a new thread, just posted).

Oh I see what you mean...no that doesn't strike me as fair at all!! Surely you either pay for the extra tent or the kids, but not both - that's just paying twice for the same thing isn't it?!?!?

I wondered what a pup tent was, but didn't want to appear thick...
