I am guessing that this question may have been asked dozens of times before, and I will admit to being lazy and not searching the forums a little longer, however, can you 'experienced' camping types, give me your best opinions and advice.
I would like a good quality 5 or 6 berth tent that will stand up to some good old british weather and allow us to store two mountian bikes inside whilst we sleep. Good performance in high wind and heavy rain is essential and the tent will be used six to eight times per year all over the country. Money is not the main issue, and I will pay slightly more for a better quality more robust and weather proof product.
Some of the questions and dilemas I am facing are;
a) Alloy poles of Fibre glass poles,
b) SIG or Riser Ground sheet
c) Tunnel or Dome or other
Having spent a lot of time researching the web and especialy reading these forum messages with interest I am favouring either the Vango TBS Vista, Vango Colorado 600, or even the Robens Double Dreamer, however the later Robens tent does not have a large number of reviews in the UK and it does not come with Mud Flaps and there is no information if it has a riser groundsheet etc. In its favour though it does have alloy poles.
What would you guys advise including any reccomendatiosn for other tents. All answers would be welcome,
thanks
Hillie.
Sorry forgot to mention although I would like a 5 or 6 berth tent for the occasional family and firends outing, the majority of the time it will be myself and my grilfriend, plus the moutnain bikes, kitchen sink, vanity mirror, shower suite, two wardrobes, hair dryer and internet station etc :)
