Hi Busygirl -
I never eat tofu just plain, without any seasoning or marinade (as its shown in my avatar). I find it waaay to bland and unappealing that way. But, when marinated or seasoned, or fried, I really do like it. One of my favorite things to do is cook it with Mexican Taco Seasoning. Yum! Very very flavorful and delicious in tacos!
I can't recall ever having been called a "nutter" (to my face) for being vegetarian. haha. But I have cooked veggie meals for many of my reluctant carnivorous friends and they were pleasantly surprised at how good veggie food can be.
England has been great as far as finding good vegetarian options to eat. But, I am originally from San Francisco, California, and that area is VERY veggie-friendly, so I do miss a lot of the veggie food I always bought there. But, I'm sure when I move back to the U.S. I will miss a lot of the great British vegetarian foods that aren't available in the U.S.!
Are you thinking of going vegetarian? You can certainly do it without ever even eating tofu. When I went vegetarian, it was several years before I finally started eating tofu. The thought of it grossed me out, to be honest! But now that I've learned how to cook with it and get creative, I'd say I eat it at least five times a week!

Yes, I`ve got a double allotment, I love tofu. I`ve had it for ten years now. Dare I say that allotmenting is nearly as interesting as camping?

Val I dont think I could inflict my children on the old guys at the allotments. It wouldnt be fair, they only go there to get away from their wives.
I go there to get away from my Hubby...and the kids, sometimes! I think at least 1/3rd of the plots on our site are held by families, 1/3 by couples or younger single folk of both sexesand only the last 1/3rd by old guys. Except me, of course, who`s the token grumpy old bat in the corner.
