we have bought one but not had chance to put it up yet to see what it is really like?? going to devon with it i9n a week so any comments would be great cheers dave
I have just brought one- but it has not stopped rainig past few weeks it seems every day I think Ill try it it starts to rain- will post again when we have managed to get it up! Joanne
Yep me..... We've had a couple of them Dave . Not sure which model your pitching but I think you can rely on it to do the job. The wife & her gang are dab hands at knocking our Brookfield up ,last time out they survived a ruddy hurricane with the tent comming threw it without a mark. Ilkey, Derbys' ? sounds like you've bought from Yeomans.
The peakland Tourer rocks! Large tent, very stable, a mate has one. It looks like according to yeomans website it has been replaced by the Ashover (1 extra bedroom at the back)
Dave - you've got a really good, practical and sound tent there.
We've had one for a couple of years now. We only do weekends but it's stood up to some really foul weather without leaks and stable in heavy winds.
The ability to stand up in the centre section of the inner tent makes it for me and the huge canopy area is very practical.
We've had one glass fibre pole section split (the canopy end) but that was easily replaced by our local camping shop for a fiver. It's not surprising considering some of the conditions in which we've put it up.
You might consider taking a length of cord to rig up on the door zip. You run this from the zip fastener up to a hook slung from the door rollup restrain loop, back down to a shackle on a tent peg (or two together) in the ground at the door opening and back up to the zip fastener again. It allows you to open and close the door zip from the inside without having to bend right down under the sloping door which can be a struggle.
Sounds complicated, I know but it's a huge help.
We're away this weekend in the tent so I'll take some photos to show what I mean.
We're upgrading this year so our tent is for sale after this weekend if anyone's interested. We'll let it go for under £100. It's in very good nick and comes with a tarp to put under the inner (that's also worth doing, Dave).
