At the end of the day it all comes down to money. I honestly think you get what you pay for. I have a Daxara 153 a big heavy trailer but its great for camping and the build quality is great. Its made by Erde and compares to the 142 I think. The only difference being additional mini shock absorbers on the Daxara and double skinned. Erde's are also good but compared to something like Caddy trailers they are expensive.
It really depends on how often you will use it. I bought the 153 for the following - it had an A drawbar rather than the single drawbar giving more stability. It tilts and has a droptail back and front, It has proper road size wheels that will take high mileage as apposed to the 8inch and 10inch wheels on other trailers. Good quality metal trailers hold their value.
You will be surprised how often you will actually use the trailer once you have it. Sit down and decide what you actually want from your trailer and what you can afford to buy. The only specific advice I would give from experience is if I could find a a comparable Daxara and an Erde I would always go for the Daxara.
get the biggest that you can afford/store, you'll soon fill it - & put all your heavy kit in it, you'll find your will run so much better with all the weight off it.
Have to agree with nigel16. I went for a Franc trailer for pretty much the same reasons. It certainly wasn't cheap when i'd got everything for it (jockey wheel, spare wheel/tyre, spare wheel carrier, ABS lid - about half the price of the trailer!!!) but i would defintely do the same again.
I have just bought the Thule backbox that is essentially a roof box but it goes on the towbar. It was delivered today and it is huge!! Takes 420 litres of stuff and up to 50kg so ideal. Hoping for dry weather this weekend to try it out..........

Had a look at those yesterday, in Halfords, and they look excellent. Will you post to let us know how you get on with it? How do the bolts work to secure the rack to the towball?
