hi everyone stewey here , at last the truth is out there , after finally contacting vangos main office enquiring about new v v 500 2006 model they have told me a permanent new porch sig has been added along with a new colour bottle /moss after hunting high and low and phoning different camping shops and being told that the new one has been taken off the market because of a descrepancy regarding the sig and they have gone back to last years model ie peg down and they do any color you like as long as its blue , ive just been told that the reason they arent doing the 2006 model is because they have to many 2005 models in stock , boy thats realy selling new vv 500s to the masses isnt it . the thing what narks me is being lied to , ime not thick or gullable but when you know there trying to sell me last years model instead of this years model , also if its last years model why is it the same price or sometimes the case higher in price lower it considerably and maybe ill buy one of last years model . ps im fuming coz this is the longest post ive ever wrote. see you soon ( i hope ) victor meld , oh sorry stewey
Taunton Leisure have the 2006 model listed as being in stock and they do mail order. They were selling the 2005 model cheaper the other day - I think £89 but it isn't on their website. I've seen a number of sites advertising both and the 2005 model has always been cheaper than the 2006 model so it's probably a case of shopping around.

The Taunton Leisure camping show has a green VV500 on display, so I guess that makes it a 2006 model? MT
How many times have you been there now MT?
When I went to Highbridge a month or so ago I think they only had the 2005 one up but perhaps they've shifted their old stock and have put up the new one? they had the new one for sale as well
Ahh, I'm off work today and I'm very tempted to take a trip out to their show, it's only a couple of miles from me.....I think you've just convinced me!! We've managed to tear a hole in the groundsheet of the inner of our VV500 and I'm trying to decide what to do.....(other than stick it up with duct tape which is what we've done so far!!)
Go on, you know you want to. Listen, the tents are calling, calling....
I was very taken with the Wild Country Venturi 4. Very light to put up, only three poles, plenty of windows, clever little rain gutter thing, above the doors. I could stand up in it (but most people wouldn't be able to ). It was very windy when I was there and the tent felt very safe and solid. But no mudflaps (hmm, what do we think about that?) and two inners - which would be good for us but maybe not for you? MT

Does anyone know where I can buy one of these near Brighton (either model will do) Need the tent next week so can't buy mail order as all the sites I've looked at say around 10 days delivery time. Thanks
I am now very confused!! They do have the 2006 VV500 at the Taunton Leisure show but it was blue - it was deff the 2006 as it had the toggle in groundsheet that was sewn in to the front of the inner but no sign of green at all? I forgot to pick up one of their brochures though so I'm still not sure.
Still very confused about what to buy - think we're going to make do with the many tents that we've got for now including the duct taped VV500!! Still hankering after a frame tent......
We bought a VV500 2005 model at Taunton Leisure's Highbridge site Easter weekend and it is blue, deffo blue. Had a great time away last bank holiday in it, no problems with it having a lose ground sheet, it was very cold and we used the fan heater and it was toasty warm.

PS their customer service is fab, highly recommend dealing with them.
