I've got the 400 myself and I think it's superb. Not sure whether my thoughts can be considered completely unbiased as you know we sell them, but if there is anything I can help with dont hesitate to ask

I was going to buy a Sunncamp Evolution 400 but after reading some not -so -good reports on it, i was considering an Outdoor Revolution too.  They look good.  We need a smaller, easy to put up tent for overnight trips.

I don't really have anything to compare it with but we've had no problems with our VRX500.

Here is some info which I will putting on the website some time over the next few days, may help

Outdoor Revolution Tent Features

For the 2006 range Outdoor Revolution has kept all the key features enjoyed by families and added even more to each tent without increasing the price.

Outdoor Revolution are a strong UK brand, designing tents for use in the UK and Northern Europe. They take into account changeable weather, family needs (such as ease of erection and fire safe), ventilation, and durability. An Outdoor Revolution tent is a good old fashioned British designed tent – built to last.

Key design features are listed below, but rest assured by buying an Outdoor Revolution tent you are buying a high specification family tent at great value for money.

Key Features

Fully Waterproof. All of their Family tents are 3,000mm Hydrostatic head, which means they will hold 3 metres of water prior to any sign of leaking. This means they are all over three times the British Standard. This gives you the best possible cover in the great outdoors. Touring tents are 2,0000 mm HH

Fully Taped Seams. All of the tents come with fully taped seams, which gives each area of stitching a waterproof seal. Some other tents are ‘critically taped’, which means they are only taped in areas where they really need to be. All Outdoor Revolution tents are fully taped, meaning every single join in the tent is covered with a waterproof seal.

Fire Retardant treated. All Outdoor Revolution tents are treated in a way that the tent would not immediately catch fire or easily melt, giving time for anyone inside to escape in the unlikely event of a fire.

Easy to erect. With most of the range coming with short poles and all of them with colour coded sleeves each Outdoor Revolution tent is simple to erect. All of the range are designed to be outer first, and in most cases the inner tent stays attached to the outer making it even easier to assemble and disassemble.

Breathable Inners and Increase Ventilation.   All Outdoor Revolution tents come with fully breathable inner cabins. This means that the inside of each tent is fully ventilated minimising damp, condensation and allowing fresh air to flow. Whilst keeping in warmth the systems within all Outdoor Revolution tents ensure a cool exchange of air with the outside, and each inner cabin continues this system.

Reflective Guyline. Every single tent comes with reflective guylines so its easy to see at night.

Alluminium Guyline Runners. Each Outdoor Revolution tent comes with aluminium guyline runners which means an unbreakable system. Whereas most other tents have plastic ones which can break more easily you will never have this happen to you with an Outdoor Revolution tent.

Stability Strap System. Each Outdoor Revolution family tent comes with the stability strap system, which means further stability in the Great British weather – which our design team has come to understand. This is a simple buckle system that will clip on and off for maximum flexibility. ( not touring range )

Re-inforced Stress Points. All main pegging points are reinforced with extra fabric and double stitching to provide further strength and support in high winds

Focal Point Visibility – One of the key features of Outdoor Revolution Tents is the high visibility they give to customers through the design of the tents. The Scenic 4.2 and 6.2 both come with a 270 degree focal point so you can see all almost all the way around you, and all other tents have large windows and multiple door options to ensure you make the most of your views, whilst away. This is also very useful for very young children.

Maximum Headroom – It is the aim in all Outdoor Revolution tents to give maximum headroom where possible. This is done through the use of pre-bent poles on larger models and large entrance areas to all tents. This will also add to the feeling of space and height inside the unit.

I cant say that my opinions are totally unbiased either but it is true that the Outdoor Revolution range is designed completely for the UK and Northern Europe and is not a European or American brand so with this in mind should serve you very well.

As a brand it has only existed for four years but we do, every day, recieve emails and phone calls from people who are still using and enjoying their Outdoor Revolution tents from four years ago.  If you visit the Outdoor Revolution website there are dealers on there who have the tents on display if you need to see them.

Some tents, like those from supermarkets, are made to a price.  Outdoor Revolution, whilst remaining good value for money, have many features that you dont find on cheaper end tents.  Outwell is a good comparison of the quality we achieve and the factories we use only make technical camping equipment.
