Well, I have rang the site this afternoon which we were due to go to on Sunday for two nights, and they said at the moment it is pretty waterlogged and more rain forecast, so they trying to put people off going. They said to ring back tomorrow in case it doesnt rain, but doesnt look very likely. They said if cars get stuck in the mud, the damage it causes takes weeks to recover, which is fair enough, they are lovely people at the site. So looks like a weekend at home...But we are off the the Isle of Wight in three weeks, so not long untill we do go again.
Anyone else had to cancel this weekend?

------------- Life is to short to do the ironing....
Many sites are closed due to waterlogging. We've rescheduled for next weekend as the forecast is looking much better. Shame to loose out on the bank holiday though.
We just got the call that the camp site we were visiting is water logged and to call on Monday as we were booked in for the week. Just had my little boy in tears, I know how he feels.
Aaaaahh, poor little fella. Gutted for him. Can you get him a little 2man tent they sell at supermarkets for about a tenner and let him have an indoor camp? we used to do this with ours when they were little, not because they'd been dissappointed by the bad weather, but because they always wanted to garden camp, and we were not willing to let them cos they were too young at the time. We'd put the tent up in the bedroom and let them sleep in it with their sleeping bags and torches.
We didn't book anywhere, we were just going to set off and see where we landed. But not anymore, we are now staying at home too too wet

{As told to me by a friend.} Man's best friend is the dog, but a women's is the bunny
Smile and the world smiles with you, we hope!!
Hubby couldn`t get time off work to go this weekend, so we are booked for next weekend instead and we have our fingers crossed that the weather gets better.
We had two heartbroken children yesterday when we told them our camping trip this weekend was off but we've just booked 5 days in Anglesey from next thurs so ..fingers crossed!!
The sun'll come out tomorrow...!!!!
------------- Time is never wasted when you're wasted all the time.
We're booked for 2 weeks time. This drought we're having is causing us major problems here in Norfolk..... Our water butt is overflowing and our garden is growing like mad. Don't know what the water companies are playing at. Bleeding rain rain rain.
Yes we are having rain but is it the RIGHT sort of rain??? I did hear that if it isn`t the right sort of rain it won`t help fill the reservoirs. Mind you, I didn`t know we needed specific rain for that, I thought any old rain would do it, but there again what do I know?
We have called off our weekend too. Raining here again and we don't have the right fixing kit for our new Thule backbox so all in all we decided we couldn't be fussed to go away.
I just don't get this wrong type of rain larky! Rain is rain is rain is rain. It's all wet isn't it? I think what they mean is that this time of year it evaporates quicker whereas in the winter you get more run off due to the temperature but surely if we continue to have so much rain and the temps stay reasonably low it must count for something?
