We used a 25ltr coolbox from Woolies for the first time over the weekend. The manufacturer is Ezital ??? I think, but is branded with Woolies own name and cost £29.99. We were delighted with its chilling power. It got very warm in the tent on the Saturday but we got back after a day out to find everything in the cooler was still icy cold.

Electric coolboxes are fine as long as you don't mind the noise of them, have a permanent electrical supply and are not in temperatures over around 25 degrees.

I have one that I use in various different circumstances but for camping we now have a three way fridge which solves the other problems (and gives us an extra beer fridge for Christmas!!)

Have been looking at electric coolboxes today - think we will go with the Igloo Koolmate 40 as that does cool to 25 degrees below ambient so as long as we don't have a heatwave we should be ok. Also looked at the Combicool - but rather too expensive and too large for our car, if we brought that with us we'd have to leave the tent at home.

I've got an igloo koolmate and whilst it cools fine the fan might be distracting in the night.
So I've just bought a 3 way fridge that's silent, but I'm not sure how well that'll cool when the temp outside drops. It says 16c minimum, I'd have thought that the tent will be cooler than that at night?

I have got a Waeco Cooly coolbox, which I have been very pleased with. It keeps pretty cool. I tend to switch it off a night because of the noise of the fan, but as the air temp tends to be cooler at night, the food seems to stay cold.

I'd rather be camping

We have just bought, and tried, the Koolmate, and we are very happy with it. Amazingly quiet. Just wish they had put more shelves in it.

lorarose  The Woolworths Ezital coolbox needs an adaptor to be plugged into the mains, they sell one for £12.99 which was the cheapest I could find anywhere. Some places charged £20 for the same thing.

we used our koolmate 40 for the first time this bank hol w/e.....it was great!

we could hardly hear it at all......sometimes I wondered if it wasnt working and had to put my lughole to within a few inches of the fan to convince myself that it was still going !!!!

would definitely recomend this one  - we got ours from camping-online, very reasonable
