i just got back from a rather cold bankholiday weekend, on friday night i hardly slept and my girlfriend didnt either so on saturday i purchased 2 nice and thick sleeping bags and what a difference they made, i was lovly and toasty warm and on sunday i hade no complaints from my girlfriend so that was £30 well spent,

any other helpfill tips will be noted

We have 2 Wynnster trail explorer bags which we can zip together if we want. They're great, really warm & comfy with loads of room & a flanelette lining. They're around £25 each & we got them from Camperlands at Manchester. http://www.wynnsteroutdoorleisure.com/trailexplorer.htm

When it's cold I also put a rug & insulating mats underneath our Coleman Double Comfort airbed, & a fleece blanket between the bed & the sleeping bags. At Easter I also took a spare sleeping bag to wrap around us whilst we were sat watching our DVDs at night. This could have been put over our bags as an extra layer if it had snowed! I also wore fleece PJs & a fleece hat. We were snug as bugs but you might be a little bit warm if you tried all that at this time of year - the bags should be enough!!!!!

Our experience of sleeping bags are pretty similar. We had a double bag but found the moving about thing and the cold spots in the bag were too much to have a good night sleep.

We now sleep on: couple of roll mats on the groundsheet, blow up double bed, completely opened single bag, two single vango nitestar350 bags mummy style ( then my wife puts a blanket over the top of herself) Thats plenty warm for even the coldest nights.

Oh, and the OH bought a elec fan heater at the weekend, I'm sure we are gonna wake up one morning with the tent melted down round us !!
