Hi guys got back from another great weekend on Monday.

I am really frustrated though  with the bedrroms on my Diablo 900. We sleep in the back bedroom, (the one with the door). I can never get the walls to NOT sag. Is it the weight of the zip etc that drags it down. I tightened the tent so much that I could not zip up fully, the door to the living area. We also had saggy walls to one of the other bedrooms. Another experienced camper who looked at it said, it looked like we had "too much material in the tent?".

Any advice/help appreciated.

Seems to be a problem with the diablos as they only have the one bedroom pole.

I've seen quite a few threads on here about it

We have pitched ours 4 times now with different results each time. Our best pitching was the time we pitched very quickly as it was beginning to rain. I'm not sure why but wonder if it was because the pitch was flat and level. On all the other occasions we had problems with saggy walls and internal doors that wouldn't zip but the pitches then were either uneven or sloping.

Err, thanks for that, however, only used the diablo 3 weekends, after spending £300.00 on it so that option can not be on the "radar!".

Our problem was similar in that the bedrooms never did seem quite right but weren't obviously 'sagging'. We felt it was the flysheet that was the bugbear to get right. Have now changed to the Vango Aspen 700DLX having seen it erected on a site in Yorkshire with no obvious problems. Got the space still but a more rigid frame.

we had a diablo 600 which was great, but the saggy bedrooms and pods with steep inner walls meant we had to sell up and go large for a montana 12, bedrooms to stand in, no sagging and a very rigid tent.

We tried a few ways to solve the sagging before we sold, but had to bite the bullet I am afraid to say...

Chalky

We have the 900 and have issues getting the bedrooms right.

There was a thread on here a while back which also included some feed back from someone at Vango themselves.

The gist of the advise in that thread was to get the tension on the flysheet even with the pull straps.

Our experience has been to make the bedroom doors are zipped, floors flat and even and not to over tension the flysheet.

Despite this niggle, we still think ot is a great tent and will not be changing for any other especially when it stayed up last year in Scotland during some serious winds despite a broken pole (must hasten to add the pole broke due to male stupidity earlier in the year)

One day someone will suss out how to erect the perfect 900 and then we will all know ( if they remember exactly how they got it perfect of course)

Enjoy your tent

We only go camping to see what we have forgotten and what we need to get for next time. If only we could remember where we put the list..................

This crops up so often, I wonder if it's down to variation in individual tents. I've never suffered from saggy bedroom syndrome ( in common with other posters), but do always suffer with tight zips at various locations.

Given the steep angles of the tent's construction, I can see how a little material to one side or the other could result in being too taut or too saggy (if you know what I mean )

Still haven't seen a better tent though

Ditto on that Peridot, Our D600 is a bit of a hit and miss with the saggy bedrooms. TBH a bit of twoin-an-froeing sorts out the bedrooms for us. OH goes inside the tent to keep the SIG pretty flat when I peg out, helps to get the tight zip thing sorted.

I do admit tho' the Vango Diablo is a superb tent. Great finish. Warm and fairly easy to pitch. Good room and a great glow inside in the right light, I just love it.

Hi Scotia,

does your OH go in the tent to keep the sig flat, before you locate the poles in to the securing pins or after?

many thanks

After the poles go in Chalky,

poles into the pin system, then position the tent then she crawls in and I pull out the SIG to get the pegs in.

Works for us.

Cheers !

Ah but do you get a chance to grab a quick grope of her rear end while she is in there?  I find this help relieves the tension!!!
