Does anyone know where I can see an outwell indiana 8 (or possibly 6) set up in the lancashire area? or failing that, somewhere that sells them and can answer lots of questions?

& has anyone got any tips/advice about outwell in general or the indiana in particular? I particularly like the detatchable bathtub groundsheet - more versatile than sig I think.

I think Outdoor World in Liverpool have the Indiana 6 on display at the moment, sorry I know it's not in Lancs but not that far away from Leyland, they are very helpful with any questions you might have also.

One thing I noticed about the Indiana, is that the bathtub groundsheet on it cannot be compared to a SIG in anyway ( i.e. is doesn't offer many of the advantages of a SIG if you are a SIG person ).  For example, the bathtub groundsheet does not stretch the whole of the tent, only upto the pods, so it will offer limited protection as regards visitors ( insects ) in your tent.  If you take one of the pods down for extra space, it is just grass.  It will however help prevent water getting into the living area if the weather is that bad.  If its questions you would like answered, then try posting them on here.  Other than that, any of the Outwell dealers will be able to help.  I am not from your area, but the place I use is PJ Camping who I can recommend.

Well, I know what Steve means, but for me the riser groundsheet would keep most drafts  out of the living area of the Indiana - which is probably as much as I want from a SIG. NB there are mudflaps which can be pegged down on the outside of the riser groundsheet to increase the draft exclusion. I am used to the full SIG of the Montana, but would consider an Indiana if the other advantages it could offer me over the Montana were important enough.

I would probably also put another old bit of groundsheet or a tarp down either just underneath the inners or under  the full footprint of the tent. MT

hi we had the indiana 8 now got the montana 6

the indiana 8 is a big tent we had 8 adults and 3 kids in all sitting round two tables. you can put up the bedroom on one side if you want more space put both up and the living space in the middle is still large enough i think about the same size as the montys living space

the down side is that when you lay the tent out on the floor the poles have to be threaded in and i would guess they must be 15 foot long and if you have neighbours you wont have room, we could not put it back into the bag it came out of and had to get separate bag for poles. also if you are on the short side you might have trouble hanging the bedroom pods. we had this tent for only one season and the sold it. it was easy to put up. no sig

i am sure there are lots of people on here who would reccomend this tent, given the choice monty 6 for us

Hi Caroline, what is rather confusing here is that there are different tents with the same name . Aliantha is talking about the Outwell Indiana which only came out this year, so I think maybe you are talking about the Campus Indiana tent which was out in 2005?

I don't know why tent companies do this! Another example is both Vango and Oregon launching new models called 'Oregon' this year. MT

I mean, how do you peg down the bedroom SIG - the corner of it that's towards the middle of the BTG? Or do you have to do without the BTG to have the extra bedroom pod up?

BTC Leisure World at Fleetwood have the Outwell Indiana 6 up (well they did yesterday).

Personally I wasn't overly impressed, gimme my Montana 6 anytime!!!!

we have an Outwell indiana 8 which i (finally) put up in the garden on saturday for the first time, i was very impressed. The two birth bedroom clips on to the groundsheet which has loops on it.

We've just bought the Inidiana 4 from Casey's as a weekend tent.

We have an Aspen 700 for week trips.

The indiana is superb with so much room inside, really easy to put up and groud sheet is excellent. We have a sig in the Aspen but the bathtub in this keeps out most draughts and crawley things.

The build quality of the tent is top class with the attention to detail just right, we are really pleased with the tent, and the guy's at casey's are top.
