Thanks magicaly, that's a great idea becuase it would mean if the noise started late then you wouldn't even have to get out of your sleeping bag. Beginning to see the point of the mobile phone now.
We had the family from hell on a site in Yorkshire and we rang the wardens even though it was gone midnight and they had to get out of bed. Its their job to deal with noisy drunken campers, not ours. ....We always make sure we have the wardens phone number when we check in.
Carol
Carol, I agree. And if you put the warden's number on your mobile then it saves fumbling about in the night for the piece of paper you scribbled it on.
I would hesitate to take any direct retaliatory action as it might just up the ante and escalate the whole situation. MT
------------- Tackling life the Western District way
We were just outside Betwsy-Coed last weekend a lovely site, first night very peaceful, then on the second night a young couple arrived at about 10.30ish very noisely put there tent up (took about 30 minutes with a foot pump then, to blow up there airbed) then opened their car door and blasted the stereo out full blast. Why are people so inconsiderate. Anyway other half politely asked them to turn it down and explained that we had children asleep in the tent, which to be fair they did. So in future going to look for a site with a warden and a policy of no noise after 11.30pm
Well I am only 4ft 10ins and my partner is a miniscule 5ft 2ins so there is no way we are going to do anything confrontational. As far as I'm concerned the warden gets paid to run an orderly campsite and getting out of bed to quieten noisy campers is one of a wardens many duties.
Thats a good idea to put the wardens number in your speed dial. We are normally searching high and low for the scrap of paper.
