We bought our tent 3 years ago now and used it only the once, been in caravans and parents awnings since. Now we are looking for something easier to put up (this was not so hard but a pop up type tent would be better).

Ideally we would like a four berth, quite high (partner is 6 foot 5!), bedroom tent to be put up after main tent errected, easy to put up, cheap tent. We are not to bothered on outside space since we will only use it for sleeping in, but the main thing is ease for touring ie. up and down every day or two.

If anyone can recommend anything we would be most gratefull

I doubt you`re going to get a tent that fits your specs better and is easier to put up than a Vango Colorado 400, to be honest. What is it that you don`t like about this tent?

My Gelert Skydome 6 - £50 in the free adds section of this site - just about teh tallest single sleeper around. However, you are in Yorkshire and I am in Surrey... darn.

Putting the Skydome aside (you might be able to find an end of line 2005 model - if so that would work very well), I would have thought you want a dome tent, as they tend, by their nature, to be taller than Tunnels.

One to definately to look at new would be a Sunncamp Pathfinder, which is like a church inside!

Yes, I suppose that was a bit mean of me. Especially as I haven't seen one up and am only going by tinternet photos. Sunncamp do have some very attractive looking tents this year but there are also one or two others which look like they were put together from all the bits left over . MT

I am 6'8" and really struggle to find a tent with big enough sleeping area (ie, enough to stretch out in comfortably). I recently bought the ridiculously large Cheltenham tent from Attwoolls but this is really only suited to long term stays away.I could really do with a smaller tent that's reasonably quick to put up that I and my wife can use for weekends. Can anyone suggest something? ie. smallish living area (if at all) but large bedroom (genuinely more than 250cm inside).

Thanks

Do as I do, with our Anglesey get a tent with a double skin-SIG (i.e. the inner is the SIG, unlike a Montana) and sleep in the main living area. This makes for a huge bedroom of over 3x3m; then use the bedroom pod as storage. I think this year Wynnster have renamed this tent Orion.

Secondly, hunt down an end of line Gelert 2005 Skydome which has a 2.4m x 3.2m bedroom (note: my skydone is for sale in the free adverts section if you are interested) - I chose it for the same reason.

Is it just for the two of you? What about a Wynnster Shrike 6  http://www.worldofcamping.co.uk/shop/Detail.asp?Mfg=1&ProductID=797 ? The bedroom on that is slightly more than 3m x 2m, and as its only three poles and weighs less than 11 kilos it should pop up and down pretty fast for weekend use. MT
