Hi there. We've just been out in the garden putting our new Diablo 900 up. All was going well until we got to:

"2 side-release buckles at the base of each side of the flysheet are attached to the mating half"

Can anybody help?

Thanks for your time,
Yvette

Pass. Helped a couple of fellow campers put theirs up last weekend, case of having to as it was rather windy and they looked as if they could be paragliding with the outer at any moment! Wasn`t the easiest of tents to put up in our eyes, ours was much easier and less chance of becoming airborne with it!

Hi Yvette    We've had our 900 for a couple of years now, so it might not be quite the same as yours.  However, our flysheet has tension straps on it which hook onto the ring and pin system of the innter tent and are then tightened to tension the flysheet.  Hope this might help.

Well, this is a side release buckle if that`s what`s puzzling you....

Given that this comment is part of the flysheet pitching instructions, I assume that these buckles are for attaching the base of the flysheet to the inner tent at ground level somewhere? Hunt around...you should find the mating half eventually.

There was a similar thread to this last week.

The Diablos do not have side-release buckles, but for some reason the instructions clain they do.

The black plastic hooks attach to the webbing loops at the pin points.

Congratulations on an excellent choice of tent. That must be some garden you have, to be able to accommodate it

Well, thank you all very much! This was just our dry-run, but we'll have another look when we put it up for real!

Peridot re: our garden - you may think so, but infact the poles were sticking through the hedge into the neighbours garden on either side, and we couldnt put up the back bedroom!

Hi,

We have the diablo 900 and there are a couple of straps at the base of the porch part of the flysheet (hope that makes sense).  I think these maybe what the instructions refer to (I could also be very wrong).

Dave
