Hi andy

The tent has an HH of 2000,    which is a good enough standard for the English humidity LOL

If you havent already bought the tent I would also look at the Gelert cyclone 6 on sale at Halfords.

If you have it still looks a good tent, I have the Cherokee 4 and it well put together.

This site has a good description http://www.tents-direct.co.uk/show_tent.php?productid=463

Nothing at all wrong with a Lichfield tent. They`re made by the same company as makes Vango tents. Lichfields are more aimed at the leisure end of the market though and have less design frills.

I had a look at your tent (Lichfield Arapaho 9DLX, right?) and it pitches at approximately 6m x 6m which is quite a modest size for a nine berth tent. You should be OK most places. And it has a HH of 2000mm, which is perfectly adequate for 99% of UK summer weather. Nice tent, classic no frills design and easy to put up, relatively speaking. I saw one up last week at my local camping emporium. Very good choice for a first tent, and you can hold your head up high in any campsite with a Lichfield. I used to have a very similar Lichfield three or four years ago. Come to think of it, I have a very similar (but bigger) Vango now. As I said, classic design!

we have the arapaho 9dlx, it was the best that we could afford at the time £150, we thought that this was an excellent tent for the money.

3 good size bedrooms, a lounge area and also a porch. We have used this tent twice, once at Cornwall in August and the at windy Brean (Somerset) in March.

We are very happy with the tent, all the bedrooms are huge, fits a double airbed with still plenty of room, in fact they would possibly take a double and a single.

The weather in Cornwall was hot and sunny and we had no problems, in Brean it was very, very windy and rained and rained, the tent stood up very well, each time we went out, we expected it to be blown down, but no, it was stood up. Also no problems with the rain, and it did rain hard.

All in all an excellent budget tent, just dont even bother to try to get it back in the bag, we have never managed it, and bought a large laundry bag that we put the bedroom pods in, to be honest the tent alltogether is very heavy.

one very small downside, i would have liked some more windows in it, if the weather is bad, and you have to have the door shut, you can not see out of the tent.

good luck with it. im sure you will be pleased, oh, it is quite a big tent, but dont think that you will have much problems with pitches, although it will take most/all of the pitch up.

Hope this helps. good luck, its a very nice tent/

We also have this tent and have never had any probs with it :o)  We used it during some huge storms last year and never once got wet.

We have never been turned away because of the size of it either!

Hope you have some fantastic trips away in yours :o)

Hi all...my first post, after lurking for a few weeks!

We also have this tent, and have just had a nice few days in Somerset with it.
Very happy with it, lots of room (especially as we leave the third inner out for even more living area). I'd agree re lack of windows, but we mainly bought it for the suumer in S of F. My wife is a brilliant packer, and managed to get the whole lot in the original bag after!!

Hi and welcome to UKCS

Our first tent was the Arapaho 4,  Nice little tent.   One weekend it stood up to almost constant torrential rain.    The only reason we changed it was that it was a little too small for us.  We needed a tent with a large living area. as we have two young children.
