Just done a search on ebay and found an Auckland Tent. If that is the one you mean then I would ignore the RRP and say that the price they are asking is probably fair.
As for being any good that would depend what sort of camping you want to use it for. If that is not the tent you mean then please ignore the rest of this
I got a cheap tent (Extreme 26)off ebay last year when we decided to give camping a go and see if we liked it. It was not the best tent in the world but then we didn't pay a fortune for it. It did however survive a lethal storm on a clifftop in North Yorkshire and came out the other side in better shape than many other tents on the site at the time.
The HH on the Auckland tent is 1500 which is a bit on the low side (but not the lowest by any means!) so I wouldn't want to expose it to too much rain, but if you only want to do fair weather camping then it will probably be okay.
My sister has just bought a cheap tent off ebay and is very happy with it. She only buys cheap tents (but has one for every combination of campers!) and only does good weather camping, and is very happy with all of them .
Hope this helps.
