After much deliberation decided on the new Montana 6 anyway it came yesterday and we put it up. We didn't realise how big it was, its massive. Can't wait to go camping in it in July. Just wanted to tell everyone as we are so pleased with it .
Thinking about getting the side canopy for ours, for the opposite side to rain save door, think it will be great for sitting out and chilling , once the kids asleep, has sides unlike the front canopy, so wouldn,t matter if a little breezy. looks agreat add-on for cooking under too.

I didn't realise the side canopy had sides to it. I may consider getting one now but i'm a little worried as the foot print is already huge with just the front canopy.
Put up my Monty 6 in a trial run this weekend for the first time. Had a real game trying to figure out how to get the pins in the bottom of the poles, then realised that you can slacken off the straps on the one side. Then, hey presto it went up pretty easy.
Looking forward to the first outing in a couple of weeks time.
we have just got back from castlerigg hall in keswick, this was only the second time of pitching this tent, the first was in the garden, and it was all piched in 25 mins. it is a brilliant tent, very straight forward, worth every penny
Just done our first camping trip (this weekend just gone) in our brand new Monty 6 - loads of room! The side canopy was somewhere to sit in the shade (blessed cool)first thing in the morning and have a crafty fag and a cup of tea, also allowing me to hide my 'morning face' (terrifying to all!) We ate under it every night (2 adults & 2 kids) and found it invaluable. I'm sure it will work both ways - giving shade and a bit of shelter when windy, am also planning to cook under it if it rains.
