I've done it both ways too!!!

Did Duke of Ed where you carry everything in your back pack, no room for tv, heater etc.

Did go camping Aug bank holiday with family ( hubby, 5y old and toddler) and at night we were so cold I vowed never to camping again without a heater!! The toddler spent nearly an hour shivering in my in laws caravan.

The 1st time with electric we just took some lights, heater and elec cool box.

2nd time, the above plus mobile charger, travel kettle, camera charger, hairdryer, fairy lights for gazebo. We did take a mini tv just in case we had bad weather but never turned it on.

If we didn't have kid, would probably not bothered with the electric but now weve got it we'll enjoy our holidays in comfort.

Major down side is space in the car

I normally go on myself or with a very close friend of mine,

When i/we go for a few days we dont normallly bother with EHU, i/we normally take extra batteries for phone, laptop but when we go for a week or two i need EHU as i require to charge my phone and laptop, as i run my own web based Arts & Craft company.

I really think it depends on your circumstances,

Regards,

Wayne10788

I agree with Lancsguy, camping is about going back to basics!! If you want to take a TV and heater then get a caravan! Camping is all about fresh air, and back to basics!

I'll never have electric when I go camping, I just personnaly don't see the point in it.

Just my two pence worth

Dan

Camping is about doing what you want.  I don't recall getting a leaflet with my tent saying electric was not allowed.

Each to his own. As with most things, it is surely personal decision and that's as it should be. Camping is as individual as you are.

Exactly! Camping is about doing what YOU want! I'm just saying to me, I would never use electric when camping - the idea of camping IMO is to escape colour TV's and heaters etc!

Hey Dan. I don't go down the electric route either for the same reasons but also think there is nothing wrong with people who do.  I just gets my goat when people try and push their views on what is right and wrong.   Rant over and carry on camping.

I wasn't trying to push my views on anyone! I agree, I hate people who force there views on people! I was just saying personnaly I don't see the point, and off course If people want to use it then fair enough, It's upto them!
