Next to the tent, except for one site where we had to use a parking area (although the car was within sight), and as Skatty says, we were allowed to unload the car on our pitch. 

hmmmmm using car as a windbreak......interesting I wish we had thought of that on our first trip it was quite windy!

Must be the most expensive windbreak going though lol

Only had to park away from tent twice ,its normal to be right next to tent usually at most sites.

I usually try to possition my car so that it would protect us as much as possible while in bedroom of tent  at night from getting struck by a passing car- after A bad experience once with a drunken idiot driving round a campsite, I aslo use it like that if there are tall trees and its windy ! and on downward slopes if a car is facing us---  (hells teeth I sound like a worrier lol)
