We have taken our little one, now 7 months old, away 3 times this year. His Bumbo has been invaluable, and not just for camping, as has his blow up ring that he plays in and also serves as a place for his toys. He sleeps in a Samsonite Pop-up (Literally...!!!) Travel cot in a Vango Nitestar. The Nitestar is very snug but I think he was a bit warm in it this weekend. We also have an all-in-one polartec fleece suit that keeps him warm when its chilly. My OH is breast feeding, which has helped no end, but we use a cold water steriliser for his bowls, spoons etc. A roll of cling film is a must for keeping things clean once sterilised. The hardest thing is getting him to settle when its light in the tent. (We have a Montana 6 which is loads lighter than our old Tri-Space). We have taken to draping a travel blanket over the top of his travel cot to try to darken it for him. (We leave the side unzipped) Another good addition (If you use a EHU) is an electric kettle, simply because it boils quicker. Although you could fill a thermos last thing at night I suppose. Oh and one other thing...a bigger car, roof box and trailer because babies dont travel light...!!!
