How easy is this tent to put up? It looks difficult.

Would it be suitable foe a novice?

Well, it`s a fairly standard design so it`s not going to be any more difficult than any other tent that size. There`s no such thing as "easy" though for a big tent. All of them require at least a little effort.

However don`t let that comment put you off. If there`s two of you and you`re willing to have a practice run in the garden or local piece of wasteland before you go then you`ll be fine with it.

I hope you`ve seen this price for it, btw?

As I have just put in another thread it is a great tent for that price (it is reduced becuase it is a 2005 model - but so what!). Very comfortable, well made and spacious - especially with the SIG allowing you to sleep in the main dome, a s well as the pods.

I have put this tent up numourous times with my friend (it is his), just the two of us and, as Valk_scot says, it is no diferent to any reasonably sized dome. It certainly did not need constant fiddling with, as I have had with others.

Two of you, novice or not, would get the hang of it quickly enough.

We had one of these, I finally sold it the other day.  It is a lovely tent however I found it quite difficult to pitch, the inner goes up easily but we found it tricky to get the outer lined up properly so that the lines were nice and tidy (Is that odd?).  Also because of the Y shape of it, it took up vast amounts of space on a pitch so that on the odd times we used commercial campsites we really struggled to get the tent and the car on the pitch.

We also found that although it looks like it's got vast amounts of living space because the four doors lead off the central space it was difficult to actually store anything inside because it was always in the way.  The sleeping pods were also a bit like the Diablo that you sleep side by side and the person nearest the edge gets a face full of tent - not as bad as the Diablo but getting up for a wee in the night if you were the edge person was tricky!

It was a nice tent, it's well made, I liked it, but not enough to keep it!!

Can any one tell me does the Magnum have a pair of doors at each entrance/exit, i.e. one door associated with the inner tent and one associated with the outer? (I hope that makes sense).

Yes, it is (from memory) a true double skin. With two sets of doors, both at the rear and the front.

Thanks for the replies. Just ordered one from e-awnings.

OH and kids were complaining about the cold in our Outwell Family Dome XL so this will hopefully get them back in the mood for more camping. It is slightly smaller - has the porch rather than third bedroom - but I fancied something a little smaller that will fit on a 6x8m or 7x7m pitch.

You use the living area as the third bedroom (as we do with our Anglesey).
