the video is a load of crap we used ours for the first time this weekend and we struggled with the weight of it when all the poles are in.

oh god, now I'm worried! My OH has an elbow injury which means he cant lift really heavy things and hold his arm up high or at certain angles. It might be funny to watch us struggling put up the monty 12!

I could always get someone to video us and show you how NOT to put it up!

We struggled a bit with our Monty 6 (1st pitch this weekend) - I'm sure before we purchased ours I saw a post about putting one of the middle arches up 1st.  Being Monty virgins we chose to do it as instructed in the video/ instructions (however as Big Bunny said we added some stages of our own).

A question we had was - should there be guys for the porch poles? (we couldn't find any and just made do with string in the end)

Mine came with two yellow guy-ropes for the porch poles, they were at the bottom of the tent bag with the rip fixing kit.

We've just put our new Montana 6 up for the first time this weekend, and the kids ACTUALLY HELPED US......!!

Mind you, we had a little chat in the car as we approached the campsite.  Apart from the usual threats, we did point out that we didn't want to look stupid in front of the friends we had gone away with, (minimalist packers, tidy boot and small tents up in 5 mins, etc).  We know it's not a competition but we couldn't help ourselves.

Anyway, when it rained on Saturday evening whose large and roomy tent do you think we all (11 in total) sat in quite comfortably??!!

Haven't quite sussed how to take it down.  Do you take out all the pegs and let it fall concertina style towards the front or the back, and then take out the poles?  Any tips gratefully received.

Cheers,  LIZ
