OMG! Just got a phone call from Lee (My OH), he's over his mates house and he mentioned we'd been out looking for a tent and his mate says he's got a tent he bought 6 months ago, only put it up in the garden once and has never used it.
It turns out to be a Monty 12 and he said we could have it for nothing! My guilty conscience won't let me take it for nothing so his mate finally agreed to take £150 for it - we did offer more but he wouldnt take it.
I can't believe it! A monty 12 for £150!!!
I did point out that it's green, not blue as my OH wanted, but somehow he doesnt seem so bothered about a blue one now!
It's bagged up in the guys loft at the moment so hopefully we'll get in the nexk week, it would be good to have a practice run at putting it up before we go away in the summer
Lee sent me a pic of the tent from the leaflet attached to the receipt and it looks like a monty - although I think it looks more like the 6 than the 12, but Lee says it definitely said Montana 12 on the receipt.
If it does turn out to be some cheap version, his mate can have it back! LOL
LOL, I've just been reading all the old posts about this tent. I've bookmarked Rusty's review on how to put it up as I gather it can be a bit awkward.
I cant wait to get the tent. The trouble is Lee's mate doesnt have a loft ladder to get into the loft as his broke yesterday when they tried to go up for the tent. I might have to send Lee round with our little step ladders LOL
You really can't go wrong for that price. You wouldn't even be able to get a second hand 2005 model for that let alone a never used 2006 model. They are truly excellent tents. I will be selling my Monty 12 very soon ( have a Nebraksa now ), but it certainly wont be going for anywhere near £150.
