hi peeps just thought I'd say hello been looking around the site for a while now,we have a royal Montpelier 12 supposed to sleep 12 in the 4 bedroom but sleeps more like 8. been out with it a couple of times, we get some strange looks when we pull up in the escort and out get 2 teenagers an 8year old and 2 adults followed by the probably the biggest tent on the site plus all the kit that goes with it, we have had people come up to us and ask how we managed to get it all in such a small car all as we can say is years of practice. Any how back to the tent once it is up (about an hour if the kids help)the main living area huge plenty of space for the three terrors to do what ever they do, the head room is amazing i am 6' and unable to reach the top in the middle with outstretched arms. The sleeping pods are a bit on the narrow side they sleep two easily with plenty of length and height. I would say this tent is not for the faint hearted to put up. Better stop rattling like this and boring you all, happy camping to all.
i think there all telling tales when stating bed space ! either that the makers use unusually small people to test drive the prototypes.
yes you can get 3 or 4 VERY friendly people in a bedroom but blow up a double airbed and the remaining two have to sleep standing on one leg in the corners.
we have 3 tents 2 "5" berth and one "6" but use one bedroom for storage (where does that go with full occupancy) you need lots of room to walk round an inflated airbed so its fully occupied with 2 never mind 6
the selling point in our case is the living "room" large as possible with windows so in the summer downpours you can at least look out at the strange people that seemingly only own tee shirts walk past.
we also found out in our first tent that footprint doesent equal space ,a curved tent has plenty of unusable space and standing room only possible in a 3rd of it.
i feel a great pity for those in the "kit tents" available at stores! a week of lying down cooking your food in a partially enclosed doorway has no appeal to me.
