Wynnster Mercury 9 Excel. 3 pods (2 pods made for 2 people and 1 pod made for 5 people with a divider that can be up or left out) and a large living area, light and spacious, easy to put up. only sig in bedrooms though, mind you it has got a footprint groundsheet.
we too are a family of five, and to give us the space for all our bits we chose the monty 12, as a five family I would not recommend for going less than an eight berth, how about the sun valley 8 too ?
Whether a tent is big enough canquite often depend on when and how long you're going to use it for. If you're only going for weekends then I reckon that a 6 might be big enough - unless you've got big kids. If you're going for a week, I'd go for something bigger personally.
Also there's the consideration that small kids grow very quickly... Depends on how often you want to change your tent too.
Good luck choosing. It took me ages! (We got an Outwell Indiana 8 in the end)

ps. It can really help to go and look at the tents if you can find somewhere that has them up. Take the kids, get all of you in the tent at once and see how it feels - cos that's what it's going to be like if you decide to stay in the tent on a rainy day.
