When I was a young boy scout I was fortunate to have known one of the leaders who had decided to change a gas bottle inside a tent (not while I was there). The disfiguring injuries (burns) he received as a result taught me a lesson that I'll never forget. I guess he won't either as the scars will be with him for the rest of his life.

PLEASE change gas bottles outside.

I also prefer to cook in a gazebo or external canopy on my tent as any gas appliance which has the potential to leak is a risk in an enclosed tent.
