Now that people have had these a while, can anyone let me know how they perform, pitching guidelines, or do you have photos in your profile?

I ordered on yesterday, and wont be able to put it up till were in france, as the tent barely fits in the garden without it.

Does it go on the outside of the existing porch walls?

Whats the best way to guy it?

Thanks

Hi I have seen one of these erected onsite the canopy goes outside the attached porch ,but looking at it ,there is little actual usable space ?? most of the space is taken up with the existing porch ,which is silly reall ? Is it possible to roll back the existing porch and secure ?

Ive seen a picky of someone with a fold up table n chairs under theirs, with room to spare.

You cant see the existing porch very well, so Im not sure of the best way to set it up, hence the post.

Ive just checked. look in Jay 1,s profile. Good picky, but hard to work out how it all goes together.

Do you ever leave the computer Scatty?

Hi Joneses

Glad you've seen the profile!  The canopy is 1st class and is a wonderful addition to a great tent.  I bought a Montana this year and am thinking of taking it back (great space but missing something somehow) Still much prefer the Hartford

Anyway these photos they might help.  The canopy just clicks over the existing porch pole and is huge!

Makes a great tent even better enjoy France, can't stand the place myself

Hi Jonese

Its upto you, we just expand the sides of the existing porch and roll up the front door (Max space).  At night we just repeg and zip down in the normal fashion, however you can just rely on the internal door.

Ours is only a Hartford Plus (Harford L) and it almosts doubles the size of the tent.  You will need a big pitch!  Couldn't resist one more pici not proud or anything

hi all

i have seen the canopy up on site.bought one myself and put it up in garden .you get about 6ft extra lenght out from where the existing door meets the ground and it is 9 ft wide across the front.good extra space for cooking in.will be using mine for first time this weekend in kiln park tenby.only thing i dont like are the tension straps across the floor plus because its 6ft at back  and 9ft at front .there isnt a proper ground sheet that shape to cover the straps.anyway happy camping al the sun is back in town yupeeeee

Heres ours on the XL,it does give a lot of extra space, especially when its persisting down.

Its third down on the Gallery.

One thing I will add as I have said in previous posts on the subject, add an extra guy to the front guy points, peg the originals straight out to keep the tunnel taught but peg the new ones at right angles, this will stop the swaying in a side wind.

I would post a picture but for some reason it wont let me on this board

Just had a thought, there are 2 flat straps across the floor to stop the poles from spreading, pain in the arris with flop flops on (Ive got 2 left feet) so I put 2 wire tent pegs in at an angle about a third of the way along them to fasten them hard to the ground. Just a thought.
