Hi All, I have just erected my Montana 6 for the first time. There was no problem getting it up, However when I tried to put it back in the bag I made a bit of a mess of it. I tried to put it back the same way as I got it out of the bag but it is about a third bigger than when I took it out, I had to do this on my own as my wife has a bad back, Has anyone got any hints how to roll it up neatly into the bag, Thanks in advance
I watched someone who had had a monty 6 for a couple of seasons. They laid the whole lot out flat on the ground then just kept folding in towards the middle. Once it was the right width for the bag the lady of the tent 'walked' bare footed along the length of the folded tent with hubby rolling behind her. This moved most of the air to the other end of the sausage (the end with the door in it) and soon it was rolled up and stowed away neatly. They even left the bedrooms inside!!
The easiest way I find is to first open all the doors at least half way ( including inner tents ) and lay it out flat and try and get all the roof material as flat as possible by sort of laying it out so it is pretty even. Then fold the porch inwards again so it is nice and tidy and the whole tent is an even rectangle shape.
Not take one end and fold it in until it meets the centre of the porch. Now take the other end and fold that all the way to the end.
Now you need to fold it in thirds so the width of it all is just under the length of the bag. Now you need to get as much air out of it as possible. I find the easiest way is to roll on it. Walking on it helps, but as you sort of squash one area, the air travels to another area. If you roll then you force all the air down one end and eventually it is expelled. I usually do this 2 or 3 times, roll the whole length of the tent. Then from one end start to roll it up as tightly as possible. Once it is rolled, tie it with the ribbons that come with it just to hold it there. It should now go into the bag without too much effort. If there is still air in it then unroll it and repeat the rolling process or just sit on it while it is rolled and then unroll it and roll it again.
You will never get it exactly as it was when it was factory packed but you should be able to get it so there isn't too much trouble getting it back into the bag.
Hells bells, sounds like it takes longer to pack the bugger away, than it does to put it up and take it down!... Like the sound of rolling all over it though, I can't wait to see someone doing that!...
Thats just my description Andy, long winded as usual. Doesn't take that long. The Nebraska seems to take a lot longer, I have real problems getting the air out of that. Usually when I am packing that away I am rolling about 3 feet in the air due to so much air being in it. I suppose it takes us about 5 mins to fold it, roll it and pack it.

Hi, Steve...
Only five minutes... Once I'd picked meself off the floor, after watching you 'rolling about' all over it, I'd be calling for an encore!...
I must admit, I normally do get people make a comment, but its all part of the fun. I normally get the kids to do as it doesn't look so bad compared to a grown adult rolling backwards and forwards on the floor.
We did all this with our indana i love rolling about and jumping on it, it was the best bit!!!! wouldn't let the kids near it to much like fun for them. we got it back in the bag first time no problem i looked round our pich because i thought i had left something out it went back that easy, i ready all the tips on here before we went, that helps
