Hi
I now have 3 Dobermanns and have a Khyam XXL easy to put up plenty of room and you could buy the extentions to extend the living space if you wanted , I usually only put one inner up so that leaves me space.

Any particular budget in mind?

Is this for primarly weekends or weeks away?

One of the debates/suggestions people with dogs have made before (I don't have dogs, so am only pointing out their comments), is that tents with a SIG don't allow them to get under the flysheet and run away. However, the downside of teh SIG, is that if the dog is muddy, you are going to have a hard time cleaning the groundsheet.

If you are not worried about the dogs getting out, then I suspect not having a SIG might be better, given they could get muddy - but those with dogs may be better to comment.

May be a bit pricey for you but you won't go far wrong with an Outwell Nebraska XL.  or even the XXL.  Look on the Outwell site.

Many thanks for the replies.
Basically we have decided to have a look at camping as another option to visit the lakes and other places. We are sick and tired of paying over inflated prices for cottages.
I have no real experience of camping, however my wife has done a bit of camping when she was younger.
We intend to visit a few camping shops later today ( Thurs ) to see what is available and what also suits our needs.

I'm really looking forward to purchasing our first tent and getting away for our first weekend camping trip.
We live in Warrington, Cheshire so if anyone can suggest a decent camping shop near us then I would appreciate it.
If anyone else can add any other tips on purchasing our first tent and equipment we would really appreciate that also.

Many thanks

Paul & Karen. Oscar & Zak ( the dogs )

Camping virgins.

Hi Paul ,well things I would look out for are ,mesh doors and lots of vents ( doggy smell can be exagerated a lot in a tent! ,hh3000 or more ( how waterproof the material is ) Like i said earlier ,with large dogs ,I would go for something strudy ,preferably with a steel pole structure and a good qaulity fly ,you wouldnt want one them hearing a noise in the night ,leaping up and right through a flimsy tent wall ? also too many guy ropes can be a nightmare ,our dog gets her tether taffles round them all the time !
