The tent looks ok but: -

Don't like the sleeping bags they have included in the price. (Too restricting.)

Don't like the picnic bench - I tried one once - didn't feel safe on it.

Don't know why they have included the inverter - You probably will never use it.

You should decide if you are going electric or gas.  Personally I would stick to gas in a tent. So the EHU is not needed.

It doesn't state what quality the airbeds are. You need a decent one. The cheap ones deflate in the night.

The rest of the stuff looks ok. But taking into consideration what I have said. It may be cheaper to buy separate.  If you want a really good family tent. checkout the Outwell Nebraska XL. or even the XXL.

These are selling that tent (factory seconds) for £170, I bet yoiu could get it cheaper if you shop around, what about looking on the for sale board on here for the extras?

Someone has just put a link saying Blacks are giving 25% off for today only, you may get what you want from them.

Considering the following individually,

Breckenridge tent - approx £230, 4 x Kyam sleeping bags at £25 each - approx £100, 1 x double airbed - approx £22,  2 x single airbeds at £14 each - approx £28, 1 x 12v pump - approx £8, 1 x campingaz cooker - approx £40, 1 x picnic bench set - approx £15,  1 x triple mains hook-up - approx £60,  1 x 12v-240v adapter - approx £20, 1 x 24l cool box - approx £30,  4 x Gelert lamps at £5 each - approx £20,  1 x cooker stand - approx £20,  1 x 16 piece melamine set - approx £12. The total comes to approximately £605. So I would say that buying the package is saving you around £100!!!

To me, that looks like last years Breckenridge model - not that it makes it a bad tent, far from it, just be aware thats all.

Doing some quick sums in my head, no i don't think it is that good a deal - not a bad deal, just not how I would want to spend my money. I recon you could chose the tent of your choice (within reason) and the bits you really need for the same, possibly less.

What are you actually looking for, a tent for how many people, sleeping in what configuration, for weeknds or weeks away?

Hi again Tall paul.  Please ask yourself this.

What kind of sleeper are you. Do you like to be wrapped up and sleep like a mummy ?  Or do you (like me) like to spread out, sleep on your side and turn over frequently.  If you are like me - don't go for the mummy bags.

Plus - talking out the items you may not use - Inverter, EHU and bench - You knock almost £100.00 off the price anyway.

We bought two ordinary size sleeping bags first. Used them once and went back to the shop and bought king size ones.  The first blow up mattresses we bought are now stored away in the cupboard. We were fed up of blowing them up every day.  Buy good ones. I believe the coleman ones are good. But check-out advice on the equipment thread.

Agree, there is far too much there for just the two of you - better choose what you actually want.

As for tips, get various recommend equipment from the equipment forums. And this does not mean that it is more expensive - for example the Coleman airbeds, which I also recommend, are not more espensvie, but are darn good.

Budget wise, you could get a good tent for the 4 of you (2+dogs) for under £150 - look at something like the 2005 model Sunncamp Family Vario 5, on sale at e-awnings.co.uk for £135. That would give you good height and plenty of cash to spend on the other items.

You could see if you can get the Outwell Casagrande XL  at £220.00  or the Outwell Shasta Lake. (In my opinion - Outwell are the best tents you can buy) 

Both of these tents let you sleep at one end of the tent with the dogs at the other.

Make a list of which of the items you WOULD use and work out how much that would cost you to buy separate.  Then go in with your list, tell em you were looking at the package but some stuff is excess and how much they could do what you want for (or would they swap unusable items for soemthing you would use).  if you dont ask.....
