Well i bought this tent off of ebay a few months ago for £46, thought it might be a bit of a donkey but thought i'd take a gamble on it.

It is a cabanon rotonde, haven'y been able to find much on the web about it other than some french sites which use them on eorocamp sites, has any body else got one?

Also i haven't got the little zipper bit, as it is an open ended zip, easy to lose i suppose. I have put a picture of the zip below, was wondering if anybody can tell me where i can easily get a replacement.

Last but not least, the area between the 2 and 4 berth sections is supposed to be a hanging space, the picture of which is below. Can anyone shed any light on how you would go about hanging clothes in this area as there is nothing obvious there at the moment.

Sorry for the deluge of questions. Going to stay at Hillside campsite in september and would like to have it all sorted.

Thanks

Justin.

Hi Justin

I think you would need something like this to hang clothes on...this is a finished auction, but you could always make something similar?

Had a Cabanon for years. Bought it second hand and it is real quality canvas. Conway bought Cabanon canvas from France for all their trailer tents at one point. Not sure where to get the wee zipper thingy. You could always suspend a rope between the frame of the tent and hang your clothes on hangers as normal. Better to use two hooks on the frame though and suspend the rope from these as the canvas may leak as a direct result of the rope touching it.

Hi What a bargain!!!

Our Cabanon has a hanging section between the bedrooms. It works by havin a pole with corde running through the length of it.  The cord has a hook at each end the same as on your inner bedroom tents. You then suspend it from the frame between the two bedrooms.  Great for hanging things from including those fabric fold away shelves, couple of thins on hangers or dry your towel over it on ahot day.

If you are missin the actual pole you could rig somethin up yourself with some piping or pole.

You have a bar just like a tent pole with a clip on both ends which hangs between the ceiling poles. Bungee cord through it.

Any tent repairer can repair the zip.  Leisure Care Tent Services in the Midlands are, I believe, authorised Cabanon tent repairers, so they should have the proper zip, and I can vouch for the quality of their work.  Phone Pearl Plant on 01384 293193.  Mind you the cost of the new zip is going to be more than you paid for the tent, but if that wories you, you shouldn't have bought the bargain of the year!!!  Well done.

What a bargain, the rrp of this tent was nearly a thousand pounds back in the early nineties. I've had one for about fifteen years, superb tent which will take anything the weather throws at it.

Personally i don't think the hanging pole is any practical use so we dispense with ours.

Now these people are the absolute winners when it comes to all kinds of spare parts. I've used them several times. Courteous, very helpful and prompt at posting the bits out to you.

For the hanging pole, you can get the plastic clips that clip onto the frame poles from any camping shop (I guess your bedrooms will be held up with these too, and it is handy to keep some spares anyway) and you can just run some cord between the 2 to put coat hangers on.

I second the recommendation for the tent and awning clinic from campasarow - a friend of mine used them and got very good service indeed.
