I like EHU earlier in the year, it was a Godsend at Easter for the heating and light on nights when it goes dark early. In Summer I'm not so bothered, we'll be off just us 2 this weekend with a gas burner and a little torch only!

However, next week 5 kids will be with us so I like the EHU for lighting purposes, I will also take my laptop & a DVD in case the weather turns bad but it will only be revealed if it does, otherwise I won't let on that I've brought it as I like the back to basics of it all.

We have ehu for our fan heater and for sandwich toaster. Don't take tv or anything like that with us. Hope to get a fridge one day when we've saved enough pennies. Costs a fortune to keep paying for freezer packs for our coolbox.

Have got to say I was asking for advice on heaters not the for's and against, I am a member of web forums work related and hobbies related and I have to say you always get one sarkie and anti everything. sorry to say this but its gets my back.I take my fleece which also has an on off button but does not have to warm toast option I could not afford that model.

I dont take the DVD player, tv as my tv is 32" would not fit in my boot. I have camped for many years without E.H.U heaters etc..

Thank you to all those who gave me there positive advice.

Me too! I think we might bake tomorrow night .

P.S. pofenwick, I use a fan heater with the EHU when it's cold - it heats my SIG Wynnster tent fairly well, I think the blown air helps.
