We've only cooked outside with ours, with 2 young children I thought the porch was too small to cook in and we just happen to prefer to cook outside anyway.

I wouldnt dare to, as I have 3 kids and think the porch isnt big enough. We have just got a canopy, which I will be ok to cook in, but will avoid doing so if possible.
We have cooked in our khyam windbreak which has a canopy, and this is perfect, as it is out of bounds to the kids, and has shelter on 3 sides and overhead.
I wouldnt risk my tent, but moreso the family arnt worth putting at risk.
The windbreak is great if you guy it out well. We used it in may, in torrential rain, and I kept dry whilst cooking.
As i was finishing, a leak developed in the gas line, which made the cooking flame a bit lively (yellow flame due to air mixing with gas) I didnt recognise the problem as this hadnt happened before. Within a few minutes the hose caught light .I put it out quickly, but it really scared me. I know the regulator would have hopefully stopped the gas canister exploding, but I wouldnt want that to have happened in the tent. It was scary enough in our cooking shelter.
I would really encourage anyone to avoid cooking in their tents. The risk is low but the consequences are not worth it.
Although I dont have an Outwell, I have the Vango Diablo 600 and I cook in the porch. It's very much an operation, if the cookers on in the porch, no-one is to try and slip past the Chef.
I do feel safe enough to cook in the porch tho' and it's great when the weathers poor to stick on a wee roll and sausage with a cuppa tea....
we have a diablo 900 and when we went away last year i cooked in the porch, it was safe, kid`s were told to stay in or out, but there was always the door in the sleeping pod they could use, if needed to gain access.
