Hi everyone,

I have just paid for my holiday so I don't have much money. I have just bought 2 of these to cook on as it was cheaper than buying a twin cooker:

Do these have to be off the ground when cooking? if so can anybody advise me on what I can place them on when cooking that will cost very little please.

I'm sure that you can just place these on any table or even on the ground. I think I've seen them used both ways.

Alternatively, if you dont like the idea of them being on the ground and you dont have money left for a table, put them on a couple of bricks

I've just been away for 5 days with a Gelert one of these (exactly the same just different branding).

Used it on the ground no problem.

Also used it on top of a hefty cardboard box (banana box) when my back started aching - underside doesn't get too hot. Don't tell any of the safety brigade though - this will break every rule in the book! Certainly don't do this unless you're outside of the tent in an open space.

i have a similar one, they are very stable, so i just sit it on one of the plastic boxes i store all the camping gear in,turned upside down. Saves the sore back as you can sit on a chair in front of it while cooking. If you look closely at picture in my gallery, you can see OH cooking the tea on it.

The Ground Is Fine But For A Cheap Alternative To A Kitchen

Woolies Have A Little Table Just under 1m Square at about 1m tall which will hold both your cookers on top and give u some valubale food prep space
