next week my wife and I go away camping for the week and our anniversary comes round also - we will have been married for 5 years..I know its not a patch on some folk who have been together for 20,30 years but its 5 years for us...anyway...what can I do in a tent to surprise her for it...if anything and what is there worth cooking to celebrate it apart from suausage and beans ??
all ideas welcomed..no matter how wacky they maybe..
Have you thought about doing a chicken dinner. Most places these days youcan buy a ready cooked roast chicken and potatoes and you can do the veg etc on your camp stove. We are going camping for our anniversary in a few weeks time this time with our baby, we also went camping on our honeymoon, we had a wonderful time, oh and do not forget the chocolates and flowers, and a nice bottle of wine, I would be made up with that.
hey lancs guy to get to 20 or 30 years you have to pass 5 years.
as for cooking dont think small as you can most things in your cooker in the tent, why not try mussels in wine to start with fresh crusty rolls to start followed by steak medallions shallow fried on a griddle pan and fresh veg on the side and to end loads of cake and lager and wine oh and coffe and mints lol go for it ramsey
Hi Lancs guy and congratulations on you anniversary. How about getting a nice Steak Sirloin or the like and cooked to your ladies liking. Complemented by mushrooms lighlty fried in olive oil then grilled with a Stilton and Worcestershire sauce topping with fresh french bread. This is our fav meal when away and real easy to cook. The aroma is just out of this world and oh so filling.
Hi Lorrnev, lightly fry the mushrooms in olive oil and garlic. When cooked put mushrooms in a dish with the oil. Put a healthy amount of worcestershire sauce over the mushrooms and cover with grated stilton cheese. Grill until top is golden brown. Absolutely gorgeous use french bread to soak the juices up.
